One Of Jim Cline’s latest projects is “Drumthwacket”, the
official residence of the Governor of New Jersey. This great house,
steeped in New Jersey history was originally built in 1835 by Charles
Smith Olden, whose f
amily
was among the earliest settlers in Princeton. Jim’s first assignment was to renovate the seven thousand square feet of the Governor’s private residence on the second and third floors. After that major transformation, Jim was named a
Trustee of The Drumthwacket Foundation. It was Jim’s next task and most exciting design
challenge to restore these staterooms to their original beauty and
grandeur after so many years of neglect. The project complete, Jim
crowned it all by working closely with museums to supply this historic
residence with artwork and other treasures from New Jersey’s past. Jim Cline’s much acclaimed work on these magnificent rooms may be viewed one day a week when Drumthwacket opens its doors for public tour. |
